A master of cinematic eccentricity, Kai is half Ecuadorian, half German. No one can be sure, but the working assumption is that the Ecuadorian side is where he gets his sense of humour.

Kai graduated from the prestigious Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and his debut short, a tongue-in-cheek spec for Interflora cleaned up at festivals.

From the very start, his directing has been a cut above, with his first commercial getting him on the shortlist for the Cannes Young Director Award.

A stellar career has followed with films for Mercedes, Apple, the Post Office, Aldi, BT, Sprite, Gillette, Smart Car, O2, Currys, Skoda, Hornbach and many more.

His work is dedicated to telling stories with extreme attention to detail, some might say ruthless efficiency,  perfect timing, and a fine, bone-dry sense of humour. Kai uses an improvisational approach when working with actors, extracting authentic and nuanced performances time after time.
